The gavel's at the ready
Down on convention floor,
To welcome future hopefuls,
Georgie Bush and Albert Gore.
And, while our nation struggles
For a President elect,
I sit in space, befuddled
With a quandry 'round me neck.
Our great nation has two parties,
When it could have three or four.
While George beat around the Bushes,
Allie Gore just makes me snore.
Georgie's just another apple,
Fallen 'neath his daddy's tree,
And I fear he may turn rotten,
Right before he turns to seed.
I would find it most delightful
If his mommy, Barbie Bush,
Ran against him, come November,
Spanking Georgie on his tush.
She has shown us more compassion
Than her hubby, "Read-my-lips",
And could probably do better
Than either of those pips.
But, my best choice would be Pooh Bear.
He'd show them a thing or two.
Let's elect him with a write-in vote.
It's the fairest thing to do.
For his platform, there'd be honey
In each voter's empty pot,
Instead of empty promises,
Of which we have a lot.
I have come to this conclusion,
As each party joins the Roast.
That they both need a transfusion,
Or our nation will be toast.

As I gaze through my Matilda,
(She's my telescope in space)
I see Pooh Bear and his Grover
Heating up a dismal race.
 

The bees are very busy
Down in Hundred Acre Wood,
Filling pots with lots of honey
To ensure our nation's good.
 

Every bee, down to his cousin
Is now working to the max,
Sealing Pooh Bear's "campaign money"
With a drop of pure beeswax.
 

After campaign votes are tallied
On the Democratic floor,
We'll be nominating Grover
To replace Sir Albert Gore.
 

Both the elephants and donkeys,
With their presidential airs,
Have given me the heebie-jeez.
Anybody for a bear?

  1.) Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great  risks.
  2.) When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
  3.) Follow the 3 R's: respect yourself, respect for others and  responsibility.
  4.) Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
  5.) Learn the rules so that you know how to break them properly.
  6.) Don't let a little dispute ruin a great friendship.
  7.) When you realize that you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
  8.) Spend some time alone everyday.
  9.) Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.
  10.) Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
  11.) Live a good, honorable life. 
         Then, when you get older and think back,  you can enjoy  it a second time.
  12.) A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
  13.) In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation.
         Don't bring up the past.
  14.) Share your knowledge. It's a way to achieve immortality.
  15.) Be gentle with earth.
  16.) Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.
  17.) Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other 
         exceeds your need for each other.
  18.) Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
  19.) Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.
