SUNRISE

Into
dawn's
fresh heaven
she bugles forth
her rainbowed majesty
with prismatic reeds of red
born cesarean from darkness' bed
Royal purple hues dispel night's blacks
and blues to reveille the oven's
blasting tapestry of flames
And the burgundy horn
trumpets morning
and youthful
golden
rays

SUNSET

Into
even's
kaleidoscope
of mirrored morn
the crepuscular waltz
matures the horizon's blush
Silver laced cornucopia of color
plums and oranges mom's still-life hush
quilting mankind with its shadow
A jet ebony horn plays taps
for firmament's prism
while a memorial
laser wreath
paints
rays
