Hi. :) My name is Karen. I am 59 years
old, married for 37 years.
I have 3 grown children, and 3 beautiful grandchildren!
I am a transplant from Colorado's Front Range to its beautiful Western Slope.
Now living in Eckert, on the southern slope of the Grand Mesa, I am integrating myself into my new community.
I was stage manager for a children's theater group production of Annie Jr. in 2003.
Summer/Fall of 2003 found me as assistant director for Wizard of Oz, and playing the Wicked Witch of the West!
In 2004, I played a delicious small part in a local melodrama, The Baron of Bedrock.
In the last decade I have picked up a thread of my heart, which I
had put
away so very many years ago when I decided to become "adult," which is my
poetry. I have looked back at my old
poetry, some of which is purely juvenile,
but some of which has
some merit (in my own biased opinion, of course). I have
written
quite a number of new poems, not all of which are worth sharing, and
a
few of which are far too personal to share.
I have finally come to the conclusion that it is wasteful to write
poetry
(good, bad, or indifferent) and then not attempt to share
it. The words and
images fly from my heart, and they should
truly seek to find a home in someone
else's heart. So, if you
should care, upon my pages you may peruse the work of
my heart
and mind. I hope you will find a little something that will touch
you
with meaning.
Since then, I have continued to write, I have learned to stand in front
of a group
and read my poetry, baring my soul to the world (a
little scary, but a little fun).
I share my works on several
poetry forums on the web, and consequently have
gained many new
friends, and have grown in my love of poetry. I have even recorded
interviews, including poetry readings, for CKDU, a radio station in
Halifax, Canada.
